Fostering an Inclusive and Remote-Friendly Culture
Ellumen was named one of The Washington Post’s 2022 Top Workplaces in the Washington, D.C. area. This year’s honorees include government contractors, real estate firms, health service providers and tech companies. Selection is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, which measured several aspects of workplace culture including alignment, growth and benefits. We were selected due to our consistent alignment with our values of curiosity and connection, corporate flexibility, benefits, inclusion, and engaged leadership team. Read more.
The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ (COG) Commuter Connections program hosted the 25th annual awards ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., with Ellumen’s Jack Vogel, Marketing Coordinator accepting Ellumen’s Marketing Award. Ellumen’s telework and commuter programs have led to a reduction of employee vehicle miles traveled (VMT) by 512,080 miles, and savings of 23,276 gallons of gas annually. “By championing its commuter benefits and telework programs to employees, Ellumen creates enthusiasm about working from home and using shared ways of commuting to work, and both are wins for better traffic flow and greenhouse gas reductions,” said Nicholas Ramfos, Director of Commuter Connections. Bringing Extended Reality (XR) to Digital Training
This year, our XR team continued to build innovative, immersive training environments. We demonstrated our virtual reality capabilities including simulated warehouse environments, virtual trainers, and detailed training analytics to Federal agencies across the country. XR is the newest enhancement to our already-robust digital training suite of capabilities including innovative digital courseware, online practical exercises, and training videos and podcasts. Contact our experts to learn more about developing and integrating XR into your training offerings.
Planning for the Next Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of healthcare technology in reducing exposure to viral health hazards and improving patient care. Here at Ellumen, we have over 20 years of experience in medical logistics and Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) and have recognized the need to continue improving technology to prepare for the future. During the pandemic, there have been significant advancements in telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and data sharing, which have helped healthcare facilities adapt to rapidly changing situations and protect high-risk communities. The U.S. government has also recognized the need for transformative technology that is widely accessible to effectively respond to future public health crises. In June 2022, Ellumen gained another new patent titled “Directable antenna system and method for improved communications quality.” The invention is “a directable antenna system…which has an omnidirectional antenna at a center, an inner frequency selective surface centered around the omnidirectional antenna, and an outer frequency selective surface spaced from the inner frequency selective surface… The system may include a searchable database to direct the antenna in the optimum direction for transmission and reception at a particular location.” The named inventors are William McCollough, Arezou Edalati, and Todd McCollough.
