Ellumen has been named one of The Washington Post’s 2022 Top Workplaces in the Washington, D.C. area. This year’s honorees include government contractors, real estate firms, health service providers and tech companies.
“The Post’s Top Workplaces list is now in its ninth year and continues to highlight the companies in the Washington-area that employees deem to be leaders in company satisfaction and engagement,” said Washington Post Top Workplaces editor Dion Haynes. “Each year, the leaders at these companies are commended for their leadership and collegiality, qualities which have increased in importance to employees with the last few years of heightened transition and change.”
Selection is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, which measured several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, growth and benefits. This is a brief breakdown of how Ellumen’s employees felt about our culture.
Alignment with Our Mission and Values
In August 2021, we announced our official company rebrand, which included a refocusing of our corporate mission and values. We updated our visual identity and language to capture and reflect the strengths and attributes vital to Ellumen’s core. These values of curiosity, ingenuity, adaptability, grit and connection are instrumental in everything we do, ensuring our consistent growth and commitment to high-quality services. Our employees felt that Ellumen is aligned in values, strategy and direction across the organization, with departments working in sync to achieve initiatives and common goals.
Flexibility and Benefits
We offer a comprehensive benefits package and flexible, remote work options. Our employees felt that our remote/hybrid work environment, health/professional growth benefits and overall approach to corporate communication lends itself to a healthy work-life balance and respect for differing schedules and work styles.
Employee Growth and Inclusion
Ellumen offers education and professional development resources for total investment in our employees’ learning and professional growth. We believe in cultivating diverse and inclusive teams – and then giving those teams the resources to grow. We recently implemented our STAR Performer Award to recognize and reward those leading with ingenuity and empathy. Our employees reported that our strengths lie in encouraging different points of view and promoting from within wherever possible. Additionally, employees feel respected, supported, and appreciated by their teams and leaders.
Engaged Leadership
Our leadership at every level believes in an open-door policy and sourcing new ideas. We provide direct channels to leadership and ensure consistent communication about major changes. Our employees expressed that our leadership fosters a positive, transparent and well-aligned work environment, with little to no politics or frustration amongst departments.
We at Ellumen are incredibly honored to be recognized by our employees and are committed to fostering a better work environment each year. “It is really an honor to have our employees consider Ellumen as an employer of choice, as we would not be where we are today without the commitment and dedication of our staff,” says Tram Ly, Human Resources Manager at Ellumen. “I look forward to working with our employees to continue promoting a people-first corporate culture.”
