2019 was a big year for Ellumen, bringing growth to our corporate culture and our business. As we approach 2020, let’s take a look back on the 20 successes which defined our past year.

1. New Award:

Sub to Ready Computing -Veterans Data Integration and Federation Enterprise Platform Sustainment and Application Integration (VDIF)

May 3, 2019 – Ellumen was awarded a subcontract under Ready Computing Inc’s prime contract with the VA through the Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) for Veterans Data Integration and Federation (VDIF) Enterprise Platform Sustainment and Application Integration. VDIF will facilitate VA’s transition to the new Joint Electronic Health Record (JEHR) with the Department of Defense (DoD), and assist VA with meeting Mission ACT requirements. Under VDIF, Ellumen provides Agile development of application program interfaces (APIs); helps integrate Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) data and JEHR data with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and non-COTS solutions; and provides IT project, technical, and security support of the VDIF Program.

Sub to CACI -Veterans Affairs – Provides LogiCole development and sustainment support of the Joint Medical Logistics Functional Development Center (JMLFDC)

June 4, 2019 – Ellumen was awarded a subcontract under CACI-Veterans Affairs to provide LogiCole development and sustainment support within the Joint Medical Logistics Functional Development Center (JMLFDC) in Frederick, MD.

5. New Award:

Sub to ManTech – Defense Medical Logistics – Enterprise Solution (DML-ES) Support Services in support of the Joint Medical Logistics Functional Development Center (JMLFDC)

July 24, 2019 – Ellumen, Inc. was awarded a subcontract with the Department of Defense (DoD) to support the Joint Medical Logistics Functional Development Center (JMLFDC) in ensuring the daily reliability, availability, and maintainability of all DML-ES applications, systems and environments to meet the daily demands of over 230 Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) supported worldwide. Ellumen is a subcontractor to ManTech on this contract. DML-ES forms a tailored, end-to-end business framework for MEDLOG supply chain management that employs strategies to migrate from MTF-Centric to Enterprise-Centric capability to reduce variation, increase supply chain agility and be a key enabler for patient safety, standardization and committed volume purchasing.

6. New Award:

Business Support Office Support Services for the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA)

July 26, 2019 – Ellumen was awarded this project to provide analysis support in instructional design and performance support and subject matter expertise and functional support for multiple SAP Modules which are necessary to facilitate full program coordination, management, policy development, execution, and requirements.

September 1, 2019 – Ellumen was awarded a contract under Leidos Biomedical Research to support the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT).

12. New Award:

Sub to KBRWyle – DHA Cybersecurity Assessment & Authorization

September 30, 2019 – Ellumen was awarded a contract under KBRWyle for Defense Health Administration assessment and authorization. Ellumen helps to execute cybersecurity services to assist in ensuring compliance with Federal, Department of Defense (DoD), DHA and subservices regulations and policies and ensure that the (HIT) performance is driven to maximum availability and efficiency through technically capable support teams with specialized knowledge, skills and experience supporting clinical applications and toolsets used by military health providers.

13. Washington Post Top Workplaces 2019

Ellumen was named one of the Washington Post’s Top Workplaces of 2019 due to our flexibility and purpose-driven corporate culture. We scored exceptionally high in our collaboration, transparency and the implementation of employee feedback. You can read a full breakdown of our ranking.

14. Employee Growth: 75 New Employees

Ellumen gained 75 new employees in 2019 due to our six awarded projects.  Through this, we’ve been able to streamline our on-boarding processes and training.

15. Employee Engagement 

Due to our expansion, we’re moving toward sleeker and more efficient means of communication for our employees. We’ve implemented an all-company newsletter and Microsoft Teams and are moving toward a fully-developed corporate communications strategy. Our emphasis on open communication and employee engagement has increased as our employee base has nearly doubled.

16. New Website and Re-Brand

We have a new website which better highlights our team, mission and services. Ellumen re-branded to a more modern aesthetic and communications strategy.

17. Conference Attendance

Representatives attended the 2019 HIMSS Global Health Conference and the Defense Health Information Technology Symposium.

18. Arlington Fast Four

Ellumen was recognized as a finalist for Arlington Economic Development’s 2019 Fast Four competition. This annual award celebrates Arlington’s fastest-growing businesses. Finalists are selected based on outstanding revenue growth and employee growth over a three-year period. Read more.

19. New Video Studio

Our marketing team acquired a fully-functional multi-media equipment setup for video and podcast. This supports in-house communications and our training and communications projects. Check out our National Health IT Week series.
