ARLINGTON, VA, October 10, 2019—Ellumen, Inc., a trusted provider of professional services and Information Technology (IT) solutions, was awarded a subcontract under Ready Computing Inc’s prime contract with the VA through the Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) for Veterans Data Integration and Federation (VDIF) Enterprise Platform Sustainment and Application Integration. VDIF will facilitate VA’s transition to the new Joint Electronic Health Record (JEHR) with the Department of Defense (DoD), and assist VA with meeting Mission ACT requirements. Under VDIF, Ellumen will provide Agile development of application program interfaces (APIs); help integrate Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) data and JEHR data with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and non-COTS solutions; and provide IT project, technical, and security support of the VDIF Program.

The transition from VA’s current EHR system VistA to the JEHR will modernize VA’s health system and support seamless care for Veterans as they transition from active military service to Veteran status and when they decide to seek care outside VA. This will require migrating data from legacy systems and synchronizing the data over the 10-year transition period. As part of this effort, Ellumen will provide integration/continuous delivery/access to legacy federated patient data and systems.

“We always try to be looking ahead for our customers,” stated Mary Vogel, Vice President of Client Solutions. “For VA, one of the investments we made with our time and resources was to focus on becoming intimate with HealthShare. VDIF will capitalize on the expertise we have built and ensure VA has the right team in place to support the transition from the legacy VistA EHR to the joint VA and DoD Cerner EHR platform using HealthShare.”

Ellumen has been successfully supporting VA integration efforts since we established our company in 2003. Ellumen has extensive experience with health IT, specializing in health information exchange and integration for VA and other federal customers.
